The Cemetery Management reserves the right to approve and prescribe the kind, size, design, symbolism, craftsmanship, quality and materials of all memorials, inscriptions, monuments, or markers placed or to be placed in the cemetery. All memorials must have the approval of the Cemetery Management prior to order and placement.
In keeping with the Roman Catholic ideals, a Christian character or symbol must be the main feature on all memorials. All religious images shall be executed in reverent taste. With approval by the Cemetery Management, you are entitled to one secondary image of non-religious nature that is of lesser visual significance to the religious image.
Members of non-Christian faiths may be allowed an exemption by directing their request to the Cemetery Management. No inscription, design, or emblem, which offends against religious properties, traditional usage, Church discipline or good taste, shall be permitted.
All plots require a memorial. (monument or marker) The cemetery or an authorized monument company must install the monuments or markers.
Lot owners may have proper memorial work erected on their respective lots. All memorials must have pre-approval of Cemetery Management prior to the creation of the marker or monument. All monuments shall be set on foundations built of concrete 5 in. – 6 in. thick.
For Single Plots:
A single plot is 42 inches wide. Upright monuments are too large to place on a single plot. Therefore a single plot can only accommodate a lawn level marker.
Monuments for Two or More Adjoining Plots:
The concrete or granite foundation for two or more adjoining plots may not exceed 56 inches long and 12 inches wide, which also limits the monument granite base to 56 inches long and 12 inches wide. The overall height is not to exceed 36 inches. This is the largest monument size allowed.
Engraving is only allowed on the front side of monuments.
Only traditional style two piece (Base & Tablet) monuments are allowed.
Lawn Level Markers:
Markers for single plots shall not exceed 24 inches in length and 14 inches in width. Markers for double plots shall not exceed 36 inches in length and 14 inches in width.
For Infants:
Upright monuments are not allowed in the infant section. Only lawn level markers are allowed in this section. Lawn Level Markers shall be 1’-4” x 8 in. and concrete borders are prohibited.
For Cremains, two vessels are allowed in a single plot.
All memorials shall be constructed of natural stone. No artificial stone of any kind is permitted.
A central family monument shall be allowed on a set of two or more adjacent lots in the same row.
Memorials shall be set on the space designated by the management.
Workmen employees in placing or erecting memorials and other structures or bringing in materials shall operate as independent contractors, but must do so under permission of the management.
Cemetery Management reserves the right to refuse to permit such work, unless the grounds are thoroughly settled and in good condition.
St Mary's Cemetery reserves the right to stop all work of any nature, if proper preparations have not been made; or when tools or machinery are insufficient or defective; or when work is being executed in such a manner as to threaten life or property; or when the monument dealer has been guilty of misrepresentation; or when any reasonable request on the part of the management; or when work is not being executed according to specifications; or when any person employed on the work violated the rules of the cemetery.

All markers must be one piece and set level with the ground.
All markers set level with the ground must not be less than (4) inches or more than (6) inches in thickness, with level or sawed bottom. All lettering or carving on markers must be sunk or incised.
Markers will be placed at the head of the plot.
Monuments will be placed at the head of the plot.
Crosses or other grave markers of wood, iron, cement or any like material are not allowed except the standard bronze insignia provided for the graves of veterans.
When any memorial work has been set in place, it shall not be removed without due process of law or written permission of the management.

When data has been entered into the computer system, and this data differs from the paper documents a resolution of the differences will be made by the Parish Cemetery Authority.
