Dear Family Members:
We are defiantly in unprecedented times; things seem to change every day and there are more and more cases of COVID-19. It is very challenging to follow the CDC’s recommendations and to provide the compassion and sympathy that a family deserves during the loss of a loved one, during these difficult times know that we will do the best we can to fulfill their needs while following the CDC guidelines.
We have set up some guidelines for the Church of St. Peter and how we will be handling funerals during this time.

Connie Roering will be the first contact to fill necessary paperwork for funeral.
We will be following the CDC’s guidelines of no than the approved COVID capacity in the church building at one time. This will include the Priest/Deacon, the Funeral home personal and if they choose to have music it when then include an organist who will sing.
There will be No visitation at the church.
Photos and/or other mementos of the deceased are not allowed.
There will be No Funeral Luncheon
There can be a Mass and distribution of communion following the curent safety guidelines in place.
Burials: we will follow the CDC’s recommendations.
The family will choose one reading from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament and a Responsorial Psalm The main celebrant will choose the Gospel. Family members are welcome to serve as readers, if they are comfortable to do so.
If necessary, a priest will get in touch with a family member to go over the details of the funeral liturgy.
Please note that the priests are available to pray and bless the casket at the funeral home as long as the CDC’s recommendations are followed.
