As Catholics we believe that the Eucharist is the "source and summit of the Christian life." Its importance is clear in the central nature it has in our worship and in our lives. Indeed, our Liturgy is truly a Eucharistic Liturgy, a Memorial of Christ's death and resurrection, a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity. We believe that Jesus Christ himself, living and glorious, is Present in a true, real, and substantial manner: His Body, His Blood. His Soul and His Divinity.
The Church of St. Peter offers the Sacrament of First Holy Communion to students in second grade. First Eucharist is offered once per year. Students must be Baptized and have made their First Reconciliation prior to making their First Eucharist.
All children who have had Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as their formation in grade 1 will continue their Sacramental Preparation with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30 p.m. If a child has not ever attended Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, they will receive their formation on Wednesday nights with the Faith and Life series in a classroom model.
All children preparing through St. Peter's Catholic School will receive their weekly formation in the classroom with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
We are happy to bring the Eucharist to those who are homebound. If you, or anyone you know would like to receive the Eucharist, please contact Connie Roering at the parish office at (651) 777-8304
