Archbishop Hebda needs your help this fall determining priorities for the diocese in three areas of focus.  

In his August 13, 2020 article for The Catholic Spirit, Archbishop Hebda announced the three focus areas – and some of the hard-hitting questions he seeks your input on during the Synod Small Groups to be held at our parish beginning in September.

As a reminder, the three focus areas are:

1. Forming parishes that area at the service of evangelization
2. Forming missionary disciples who know Jesus’ love and response to his call.
3. Forming youth and young adults in and for a Church that is always young

Together, we will have an opportunity to discuss and share our perspectives and responses to questions such as:
 

• What can we do to make parishes more welcoming and accessible for everyone?
• How can we offer meaningful life-long formation for discipleship?
• How can we better assist parents in forming children as disciples who know and love Jesus and his Church?

During the two-hour Small Group sessions, one per week for six weeks, we will:
 

• Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
• Experience the compelling truth of the Catholic faith in today’s culture and context.
• Examine questions under each focus area – and share perspectives among a small group of sisters and brothers in Christ.
• Weigh in on how we as a Church might respond to these questions and help Archbishop Hebda determine priorities.
