I hope you are well. You may be aware that the archdiocese reached out to the priests working in the archdiocese and asked for volunteers in order to put together a group of priests who will be available to provide sacramental care for those who, unfortunately, are or will be affected by the pandemic Covid-19.
Our Fraternity took this invitation of the archbishop to heart and, after prayerful discernment, Fr. Daniele offered his availability for such a beautiful and important ministry. Fr. Daniele will be part of this group of priests. We are all very grateful to him for his availability and willingness to help.
Experience teaches us that, to facilitate Fr. Daniele’s ministry to the sick and to minimize risks, it would be better for him to live at the house the parish owns near the cemetery. Starting this week Fr. Daniele will be temporarily living there. Although in a limited way, Fr. Daniele will still be able to take care of the other responsibilities at Saint Peter’s.
Let us all pray for Fr. Daniele and all the other priests who will be serving the sick and the dying.
